THE THREE-LAYER PRINCIPLE

The three-layer principle is divided into three layers; inner layer, middle layer and outer layer.

Correct clothing depends on activity level, temperature and weather conditions. The main focus of the principle is to transport moisture away from the body, minimize heat loss and at the same time insulate well against wind and weather. For maximum effect, you should dress according to the three-layer principle.

INNER LAYER

The first layer should keep the body dry and warm. Therefore, choose woolen underwear that is closest to the skin. For sensitive skin and to avoid itching; choose Bambull® or Bambull® Switch – a two-layer product with soft and scratch-free bamboo viscose on the inside and warm merino wool on the outside.

Avoid materials that get wet and cold, such as cotton and synthetics.

MIDDLE LAYER

The middle layer should insulate by keeping the heat in and the cold out. The smart choice is a product made of wool or wool fleece. These materials can regulate heat due to their natural heat- and moisture-transporting abilities.

OUTER LAYER

The outer layer must protect against weather and wind. Choose a windproof product, based on activity level, temperature and amount of precipitation. Here our soft down jackets are a good alternative - they are warm and windproof, and will be good when the cold settles down. If you stick to this principle throughout the autumn and winter season, you and the children are guaranteed to stay warm, dry and happy.
