THE THREE-LAYER PRINCIPLE

THREE LAYERS
The three-layer principle is divided into three sections; base layer, mid layer and outer layer.
Correct attire is dependent on activity level, temperature and weather conditions. The principle’s main focus is to transport moisture away from the body, minimize loss of body heat and at the same time isolate against wind and harsh weather. For maximum effect one should dress according to the three-layer principle.

BASE LAYER
The first layer should keep the body dry and warm. Choose wool underwear next to skin. For sensitive skin and to avoid itching, choose Bambull® - a two layer product with warm merino wool on outside and soft itch-free bamboo rayon on inside. Avoid fabrics that get wet and cold, like cotton.

MID LAYER
The mid layer should isolate by keeping the heat inside and the cold outside. The smart choice is a product made of wool or wool fleece. These materials can regulate the temperature as a result of their warming- and moisture wicking abilities.

OUTER LAYER
The outer layer should protect against weather and wind. Choose a wind- or water resistant/proof product, based on activity, temperature and the amount of down pour.
If you stick to this principle during the cold season, you and the kids are guaranteed to stay warm, dry and happy.
